Nepali boys rescued

Six Nepali boys, brought to India , were rescued from Punjab. A Nepali youth, Ganagadhar Sapkota, residing in Jalandhar, and the Nepali Janasamparka Samiti brought the children to the Nepali embassy here from Amritsar on Wednesday. The children, who hail from Rautahat’s Dharhari VDC, are between nine and 12 years old. Devendra Mandal of the VDC had brought them to Amritsar to work as street vendors, said Sapkota. Mandal is in Punjab police custody. They were sent back to Rautahat on Wednesday in coordination with Maiti India. (PR)
