Dr Amina Maharjan works as a Senior Livelihood and Migration Specialist at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). She has more than 15 years of experience as an interdisciplinary researcher and practitioner working in the intersection of human mobility, sustainable development, and climate adaptation in the Hindu Kush Himalaya. She is co-PI of two projects looking into migration as adaptation, ‘Successful Intervention Pathways for Migration as Adaptation (SUCCESS)’ and ‘PATH: Climate Mobilities for Equitable Adaptation’. She also leads the work on systems & foresight thinking at ICIMOD. She was a contributing author of two chapters of the Working Group II of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Sixth Assessment report. She has a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Giessen, Germany.
