UAE grants amnesty to 128 Nepali nationals

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has granted amnesty to 128 Nepali nationals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nepal said the pardon was issued on the occasion of Ramadan, benefiting Nepalis who had been serving prison sentences for various reasons.

According to the ministry, the Government of Nepal has expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the UAE government for this humanitarian gesture.

In a statement, the ministry noted that the move reflects goodwill and strengthened ties between the two countries, highlighting that the pardon was granted on humanitarian grounds.

The ministry also acknowledged the effort as a positive step in bilateral relations and appreciated the decision at a high level.

The amnesty process was completed in coordination with the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, following a request from the Government of Nepal.
