Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) today held discussion with central bank officials for taking initiatives to control Hundi.
“Suspecting massive inflow and outflow of money through informal and illegal channel, the Finance Ministry has taken the issue seriously and trying to crack it down at the earliest,” the ministry source said, adding that the Department of Revenue Investigation is planning to formulate strategy to control illicit money transfer system.
Earlier, the Department of Revenue Investigation has decided to investigate the trend of Hundi in collaboration with central bank and Central Investigation Bureau. “The department is currently under the discussion with officials from different government agencies,” director general at the department Shanta Bahadur Shrestha said.
