Migration for Education: An Exploration of Opportunities and Aspirations Driving Nepali Youth

The study will analyse migration trends among Nepali students over the past three decades, focusing on both internal and external factors that have influenced these patterns. It will explore the migration aspirations of Nepali students and the factors shaping these aspirations, including opportunities available in Nepal and abroad, and examine the impacts and contributions of student migration in the macro economy of Nepal. The study will be based on surveys, in-depth interviews, and key informant interviews conducted across Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, Madhesh, and Karnali provinces.
