Sarlahi,Mar.18: Police have arrested a woman for cheating a young man from Haripurwa Municipality of Sarlahi district by promising him a job in the police force.
The arrested person has been identified as 32-year-old Laxmi Kumari Mahato of Raniganj, Lalbandi municipality-17 of Sarlahi district.
DSP Saroj Rai of the District Police Office, Sarlahi, said that evidence has been found that Mahato had repeatedly cheated 21-year-old Shivam Kumar Yadav of Haripurwa Municipality-5 of Rs. 275,000 by promising him a job in the police.
Laxmi Kumari, who was in the custody of Dhanusha Police in a public case, was brought to Sarlahi after being released from custody.
Mahato was sent to prison in Dhanusha after failing to pay bail as per a court order.
DSP Rai informed that Mahato was brought to Sarlahi in coordination with Dhanusha Police after being released from prison in Dhanusha based on a complaint filed in Sarlahi.
