The Nepal embassy in New Delhi has warned its citizens against using forged labour permits or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) when travelling to Gulf countries through Indian airports, citing increased arrests by Indian immigration authorities.
In a public notice, the embassy said it received information from Indian agencies about a growing number of Nepali nationals attempting to clear immigration using forged documents. Many of them have been detained at airports and handed over to police.
The embassy urged travellers heading to countries requiring an NOC to carry either a genuine labour permit issued by Nepal’s Department of Foreign Employment or an NOC issued by the embassy itself.
Details about NOC requirements, including eligible countries, application procedures, required documents and fees, are available on the embassy’s website: [www.in.nepalembassy.gov.np]
