Hotel owner arrested for forcing minors into sex work

KATHMANDU, March 19: Police have arrested a hotel owner on charges of forcing minor girls into sex work.

Shambhulal Malla, a resident of Palungtar Municipality-6, Gorkha, was apprehended by the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau on March 17.

He operated Pancheshwar Mahakali Guest House & Restaurant in Balaju, Kathmandu. Authorities rescued two minor girls from his hotel, Bureau spokesperson SP Narendra Kunwar said.

The Kathmandu District Court has granted a five-day remand for further investigation under the Human Trafficking and Transportation (Control) Act.
