Trapped Nepalis rescued

Ten Nepali migrant workers trapped in Bagram of Afghanistan have been rescued by International Organisation of Migration and the Ministry of Interior of Afghanistan at the behest of the Embassy of Nepal to Pakistan today.

Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Arjun Bahadur Thapa told THT that all Nepalis were rescued and the Nepali mission in Pakistan, which also looks after Afghanistan, was returning them to Nepal after issuing travel documents.

“All the trapped Nepalis were rescued and brought tot Kabul from Bagram,” Thapa said.
Those Nepalis were locked up at a guesthouse based in Bagram since last one month by their agents. They were promised to jobs as security guards at the Bagram based US military base. Their agent, then absconded.
 
“We have been told that the agents are still absconding. Local authorities are searching for them,” Thapa added.
