The children were later handed over to Maiti India, an organisation working in the field of child welfare. Maiti India Advisor Bal Krishna Pandey said the children will soon be handed over to their respective guardians. Necessary initiatives will be taken to enroll them in schools. The children are the seventh graders of Katakuiyan-based Sudha Saha Lower Secondary School of Dang.

Earlier, six Nepali children from different districts had also been rescued from India, and were sent back home on March 25.
