Kathmandu, Feb 22: Speaker of the House of Representatives Dev Raj Ghimire has made a ruling that the questions raised by MPs about the Balkumari incident need a proper response.

Following the interception of the HoR session by MPs after asking for a report on the Balkumari Incident and accusing of sheer negligence on the incident, Speaker Ghimire has made a ruling that the government needs to address the 'Balkumari Incident'.

Two people were killed during the protest staged by EPS Korea aspiring youths in the Balkumari area of Lalitpur on December 29.

MP’s asked to take action saying that the report presented by the Investigation Commission has found Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Prakash Jwala guilty in the incident and therefore needs to be an immediate resignation. The MPs of the main opponent party CPN (UML) and opponent Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had raised a question mark.

Speaker Ghimire, said, “This issue was raised in the session earlier as well, and the necessary ruling has been made. I have put the issue in front of respected MPs, and I have made a ruling on the issues that were raised on February 18. This issue has been raised again. I would like attention on rule 17 of the House of Representatives Rule 2079. Questions raised on special occasions such as zero hour, need to be addressed properly."
