Six foreign employment frauds in Interpol wanted list

National Central Bureau (NCB), a contact point for Interpol offices in 190 member-states and an unit of Nepal Police, has issued a ‘diffusion’ notice against six persons, including a woman, wanted for foreign employment fraud cases.

According to NCB Kathmandu, the notice was issued at the request of Department of Foreign employment following the court order.

Those listed in the ‘diffusion’ notice are Sanjeev Mudbhary of Nawalparasi, Binod Pandeya and Om Prakash Gurung of Rupandehi, and Anjana Tuladhar Niraula, Som Nath Niraula and Durga Niraula of Jhapa.

Diffusion is used to request the arrest or whereabouts of an accused or other related information with respect to a part of police investigation. NCB directly circulates diffusion notices to its member states to facilitate cross-border investigation.

Mudhbhary has been charged with forgery and cheating unemployed and unsuspecting youth folks of Rs 6.6 million with the promise of lucrative jobs abroad, including countries in Europe and Africa. Likewise, Pandeya is said to have defrauded several people aspiring for foreign employment to the tune of Rs 6.93 million.

NCB wrote in its report that Gurung duped a man of Rs 1.3 million with the promise of a job in the USA. The Niraula trio hails from the same family and they have collected Rs 350,000 per person from a large number of people with the promise of lucrative jobs in Afghanistan.
