Seven Nepalis killed in India landslide

Seven Nepali workers were buried to death in a landslide at Pithauragarh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand on Saturday. Two others were injured in the incident.

The incident occurred when the workers were constructing a road at the Darma area. According to the District Police Office, Darchula, the victims were permanent residents of Bishalpur and Sharmali VDCs in Darchula district.

Police said Mandhoj Luhar, 43, Bishanram Luhar, 35, Shyamram Bhul, 32, Santosh Luhar, 40, Ramiram Luhar, 30, of Bishalpur and Birendraram Soni, 25, and Jhuppuram Soni, 49, of Sharmali were killed in the incident. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dev Bahadur Bogati in Darchula said Man Singh Luhar of Bishalpur and Ramesh Tiruwa of Sharmali were seriously injured.
