Oman police arrest five men for assault on Nepali woman

Five people have been arrested on charge of indecent assault on a Nepali female migrant worker in Muscat, Oman. They were arrested with the help of Nepali Embassy in Oman. Nineteen-year-old Ram Kumari (name changed) of Butwal-13 was assaulted at Mabela on April 27 while she was searching for a new job. A Bengali national identified as Azad, on the pretext of offering job, had taken Ram Kumari to a room where she was assaulted by Azad and four of his friends, the embassy said. The five men were allegedly planning to murder the woman to avoid getting caught. But Ram Kumari, who had overheard their conversation, called the authorities leading to the arrest. She had reached Oman for employment on January 17, 2018. (RSS)
