NHRC urges release of Nepalis in Afghan captivity

National Human Right Commission today said its attention had been drawn to media reports of some Nepali people held captive in Afghanistan.

According to an NHRC statement issued today, it has written to Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission to find out and tell the truth with regard to the 10 Nepalis held captive in a guest house in Afghanistan.
 
NHRC also appealed to the Afghanistan Human Rights Body to create appropriate environment for the the safe return of the captives on humanitarian ground. Some media have reported that 10 Nepalis have been taken hostage for one-and-half-month at a ‘guest house’ in Bagram City of Afghanistan.
