Nepalis Staying Illegally Abroad Will Be Rescued First: Gyawali

Kathmandu, May 5: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said on Monday that the government has directed all Nepali missions abroad to prepare need assessment report on the respective countries of their responsibility in order to make required strategy for the rescue and relief operations when needed.

Speaking at an interaction with journalists covering the labour and employment beats including Nepali journalists from Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, he said that priority would be given to Nepalis staying illegally in foreign land.

“Minister Gyawali said that Nepali workers overstaying in foreign land will be given priority in rescue and relief. There are four categories of Nepalis - workers, students, short-term visitors and resident Nepalis and illegally residing Nepalis,” Sudan Gyawali, Press Expert to Minister for Foreign Affairs Gyawali said.

The Foreign Minister also said that Nepal expected equal treatment to its people from the respective governments.
