Nepali student gang-raped in Bangalore

A Nepali law student, studying at in Nagarbhavi near Jnanabharathi Campus of Bangalore University was allegedly raped by a gang of eight near the university premises at 9:30 pm Saturday.

According to Daily News & Analysis (DNA), the 22-year-old student was strolling with her boyfriend Nirmal Kumar, an employee of a multinational tech firm, on a desolate stretch between the law institution and the BU campus when they were stopped by the miscreants. 

The miscreants first demanded money and valuables from them,but when Nirmal told them that he had left his wallet in his car, they asked him to fetch it, the DNA reported adding that then they insisted on leaving the girl with them until he returned with the money.

It said Nirmal then left her and ran back to get his wallet but on returning to the spot found that the miscreants and the woman had vanished. Police located the woman four kilometres away in a forested area adjoining the Jnanabharathi Campus over an hour after she was taken away by the miscreants, the report said.

That was when Nirmal rushed back to the law campus and spotted a constable who was just beginning his night patrol. On informing him about his girlfriend being abducted by the miscreants, the two launched a search using a torchlight.

Her clothes were in tatters, but no physical injuries were evident on her, he said. In her complaint to police, she has alleged that she was sexually assaulted.
