Nepali Migrant Worker in Saudi Arabia Rescued
A Nepali migrant working in Saudi Arabia, who had been bed-ridden due to health hazard, has been rescued by Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
Lakpa Tamang, who hails from Listi, Jalang-2 in Sindupalchowk, had been suffering from kidney related ailments for three months and lacked proper medical treatment from her employers.
Tamang was rescued and sent home from Khobar, Thuqbah on Tuesday after the NRNA took a lead for the same, NRNA Secretary-General Tej Bahadur Thapa told RSS.
She went to work in the Initial Suppliers Company in Saudi Arabia through a local manpower at Rato Pul in Kathmandu. She developed the ailment and her condition deteriorated in lack of proper medical treatment.
Her employer had been denying her request to send her home as her contract had not ended yet.
The NRNA, which had been trying to rescue for a month, finally could send her home in coordination with the Nepali embassy in Saudi Arabia, added NRNA Secretary-General Thapa. RSS (Photo available)
