Mina Magar, 46, a Nepali migrant worker, is being treated in a Kuwait -based hospital after she was apparently exploited at the hand of her employer.

A Kuwait -based journalist, Hari Krishna Neupane said her employer took Magar, who is suffering from gastritis, to the hospital 12 days ago and left her there alone.

According to documents belonging to Magar of Udaypur, she was employed by Sakina Balusi Recruiting Office in Kuwait and worked as a housemaid.

He said she has sustained wounds in her body parts and has her finger marked with ink. “Magar may have suffered beating given her wounds,” he said. She cannot walk anymore.

Magar, who went to Kuwait four months ago, worked at the house of a man in Kuwait as housemaid earlier. She was, however, handed over to the concerned office, which employs women as housemaid, after her first employer complained that her works were not satisfactory. The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has been informed of her condition.

Many Nepali women migrants are said to be suffering exploitation at the hand of their employers. According to the Nepali embassy, more than 100 female Nepalis are awaiting rescue in Kuwait .
