More than 40‚000 apply for EPS jobs

There were more aspirants who applied for the Korean language test on Thursday, eyeing a job in South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS). A total of 20,769 individuals submitted applications for the test on the second day, according to EPS Korea Section of the Department of Foreign Employment.

On Wednesday, the first day of application collection, there was submission of 19,549 applications. With this, the total number of applicants has reached 40,318 as of Thursday. Dilli Ram Bastola, director of the EPS Korea Section said that the number of applicants is likely to decline by Friday. Saturday is the last day to apply for the exam.

According to Bastola, they received 11,257 applications from three centres within the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday, while a total of 9,512 applications have been received from four centres — Dadeldhura, Pokhara, Butwal and Dharan. The language exam date has been fixed for September 26 and 27.
