Guidelines for QATAR migrant WORKERS GOOD news: NRNA

The Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has welcomed the regulatory guidelines to safeguard the rights and working conditions of migrant workers introduced by the Qatar Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.

For some time, our attention has been drawn by the media on the fact that some Nepalis, among other migrant labourers in Qatar, were not getting the working conditions they were promised, said NRNA in a press statement issued on Friday.

With the new development, we hope it will send a strong message to employers, who were not doing the right thing, the umbrella organisation of Nepali diasporas said.  NRNA also expressed its gratitude to all parties and stakeholders that contributed to voice their support for the workers and most importantly the Qatar Government for stepping and taking such a bold decision in favour of the migrant workers. We urge the Qatar Government to continue and improve its commitment in safeguarding workers’ rights, their safe working conditions and welfare, NRNA said.
