The Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista has said the government is responsible for working on the safety and health issues of workers as per the international standard. Inaugurating the ‘18th National Occupational Safety and Health Week -2075 BS’ organised by the Department of Labour on Saturday, the minister assured effective role by government bodies to strictly implement the provisions for occupational safety and health of workers. He promised to correct incomplete provisions to further ensure workers’ rights. Minister Bista insisted on the need for combined efforts of all people to improve occupational safety and health standards of workers. Earlier, the department held an awareness rally in the morning.  A large number of people including trade unions representatives, students from technical colleges and employers took part in the rally from the Basantapur to Tundikhel.
