Migrant worker fighting for life in Kuwait

Migrant worker Ganga Bahadur Gurmachhane Magar from Suntale of Barahpokhari Rural Municipality in Khotang district has been fighting for his life in a bed of Jahara Hospital, Kuwait, for the last seven months.

Ganga was critically injured in a road accident when he was on the way to his work station on 16 September 2018. Ganga Bahadur had reached Kuwait three months before the accident. According to his relative Kedar Ale Magar in Kuwait, Ganga, who lost consciousness, has yet to regain it. Referring to doctors involved in Ganga’s treatment, Kedar said that it would take time for him to regain consciousness as the accident had a severe impact on his mind. “He does not know where he is. Though his health has improved slightly, his mind is not working,” Kedar told the The Himalayan Times.

Meanwhile, a campaign has been launched to collect donation for Ganga’s treatment and his return to Nepal in Kuwait, Malaysia, Qatar, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, among other countries. Kedar said that they had launched a campaign to collect the donation as his financial condition at home was miserable. A bank account 20900937610 in the name of Ganga Bahadur’s wife Dil Kumari has been opened at Rastriya Banijya Bank Gaighat branch for monetary support.
