Iraq deports women with fake permits

Immigration Office of Iraq has deported two women after finding fake labour stickers affixed to their Nepali passports.

According to Central Investigation Bureau, Rinjangbo Lama, 45, of Tatopani, Sindhupalchowk and Chhamji Sherpa, 33, of Bhakanje, Solhukhumbu were deported on May 21 and subsequently arrested for further investigation in Nepal. They were taken into custody to probe about the forgers who sent the duo abroad.

The racketeers had sent the women to Iraq via New Delhi. “Iraqi Immigration Office deported them because of the fake labour stickers affixed on their genuine passports,” SP Ishwar Babu Karki said.

During investigation, the women implicated Jangku Sherpa and Chhotu Sherpa. They had promised lucrative jobs in Iraq. Police said both Jangku and Chhotu were at large. According to officials, hundreds of Nepalis have been left to fend for themselves in Iraq and many other countries due to fake documents and labour stickers.

The women have been sent to the Department of Immigration to proceed with further investigation. Police said a search operation was launched to nab members of the forgery racket.

CIB arrested Saroj Nayak, 31, proprietor of White House International Pvt Ltd, for sending unemployed youth to Libya with fake visas, on Saturday. Nayak was caught in the act of issuing fake Libyan visa to Mani Kumar Limbu and Dipendra Rai. Police have also seized three fake driving licences from his manpower company.

Nayak has been referred to the Department of Foreign Employment to press with forgery charge.
CIB also raided Anjali Overseas Service Pvt Ltd in Tanahun and arrested Ganesh Adhikari, 26, of Chitwan for producing fake demand letter for the Nepali labour force in Kuwait and publishing vacancy announcements in various newspapers under the cover of Kuwait-based United Gulf Co WIL to cheat unemployed youth.

According to investigators, he was found to be cheating many people of cash with the promise of lucrative jobs abroad. Adhikari is in the custody of Department of Foreign Employment to face charges.
