ILO seems positive towards ‘Prime Minister Employment Programme'

The International Labour Organisation seemed positive towards Nepal's request to support the ‘Prime Minister Employment Programme'. 
 
Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Raj Bista, who is currently in Geneva of Switzerland in the course of his participation in the 107th Session of International Labour Conference met today with ILO Director General Guy Ryder with a request to this end.
 
As stated by Joint-Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security Ram Prasad Ghimire, who is also in the minister's delegation to the ILO conference, during the meeting with the ILO Director General, Nepal received a positive response regarding its request to help Nepal for the creation of jobs. 
 
Ministry Secretary Mahesh Dahal and representative of Nepal's Permanent Mission to UN, Switzerland, Deepak Dhital, were also present on the occasion. The Government of Nepal, in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2018-19 announced it would implement the ‘Prime Minister Employment Programme' with the objective of creating job opportunities within the country and gradually ending the situation of Nepalis seeking employment abroad. 
 
The government has allocated over Rs 3 billion for this programme and aims to provide jobs to 500,000 Nepalis in the next fiscal.
