Govt to open embassies in Bahrain, Oman

The government has decided to set up new embassies in two Gulf countries-- Bahrain and Oman.

Earlier, the Cabinet had decided to establish new embassies in these countries.

Under-Secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Durga Bahadur Subedi (for Bahrain) and Jhabindra Prasad Arayal (for Oman) have been appointed the Charge d' Affaires of the newembassies in these countries.

The appointment was made as per the recent ministerial-level meetings with these countries.

Subedi, who is in the foreign service for almost two decades, has already served in Myanmar, the United Nations and Tokyo whereas Aryal was already in London, Riyadh and Brussels in connection with his long experience in foreign service.

The newly appointed diplomat s will set out for their respective placements next month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.
