Fraud arrested

The Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police today nabbed Manindra Lal Ranjitkar (49) of Jaisedewal, Kathmandu, who had been absconding after the Foreign Employment Tribunal convicted him of fraud on December 6, 2011. DSP Krishna Kumar Mahat said Ranjitkar got arrested from his hideout in Thankot. Issuing a verdict on foreign employment fraud charges against Ranjitkar, the tribunal had imposed on him a fine of Rs 3,00,000 and ordered him to pay repay Rs 5.22 million to victims. According to the CIB, Ranjitkar had defrauded Krishna Prasad Siwakoti and his family members of Rs 3.5 million, promising them lucrative jobs abroad.
