‘Creating jobs can offset labour flight’

Participants of an interaction organised in Pokhara on the occasion of the International Migrants Day on Monday stressed the need of creating jobs in the country.

This suggestion comes against the backdrop of Nepali migrant workers facing a host of problems in destination countries and growing labour flight due to lack of job opportunities in the country. The participants were of the view that the labour flight problem would improve with political stability.

Another recommendation made by the participants was making a collective effort to address the concerns related to jobs, wages and facilities of Nepali migrant workers. All foreign employments should be safe and systematic, they added.
