A youth from Pyuthan district, serving in the Russian Army, has lost his life in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Sonu Sunar, hailing from Kathebar in Pyuthan Municipality-4, succumbed to the conflict, as relayed by a friend to his family back home.

Sonu, who had worked in Qatar for two years, had departed for Russia a few months ago. Khageshwor Thapa, a neighbor of the deceased Sunar, reported that another Nepali youth has sustained injuries in the war. The injured individual informed Sunar's family about his unfortunate demise in Russia.

Bishnu Yogi, the Mayor of Pyuthan Municipality, expressed sorrow over Sunar's passing and mentioned that the Sunar family would receive further information on Friday. Thapa, the neighbor, added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been notified about the incident.
