Rs 200m Flows in Dhaulagiri during Festival in Remittance

There has been a heavy surge in the flow of remittance during the festive season in Dhaulagiri zone. Parbat, Myagdi and Baglung districts in Dhaulagiri zone have seen remittance inflow to the tune of Rs 200 million on a daily basis with the arrival of the festive season. 

The surge in the flow of remittance coincides with increasing number of people going abroad for employment.

According to Nepal Bank Limited, the flow of remittance has increased this year and there has been a collection of remittance of Rs 100 million from Baglung district, Rs 60 million from Myagdi and Rs 40 million from Parbat district. 
The inflow of remittance in large amount has kept money transfer companies and banks in the districts busy. 

Durga Kunwar, owner of Baglung Money Express, said there has been a heavy increase in the number of people turning up at banks and remittance counters to withdraw money. “We are having a busy time distributing money and recording a flow of Rs one million at our company on a daily basis,” said Kunwar. 
Nepal SBI Bank´s branch at Baglung has been distributing money to around 500 people on a daily basis with the arrival of the festival and the bank said that it distributed Rs 20 million on a single day. 
According to the banks, financial companies and cooperatives at Dhaulagiri, a large amount of remittance flows in the zone from countries such as India, Middle East countries, Malaysia, Dubai, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, United Kingdom, Australia and the United States. 

There are over two dozen remittance companies and over a dozens of banks, cooperatives and finance companies in Dhaulagiri zone.
