Relatives demand safe return

Janu Pangeni

Family members of Tara Malla, who has hit headlines after she lodged complaints against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife (Sarah Netanyahu) for harassing her, have demanded her safe return. They have called on the government to facilitate her safe return after media reported that Tara was forced to work overtime and was misbehaved when she asked for her overtime’s payment.

Surya Bahadur Malla, Tara’s younger father-in-law, talking on phone said that she wanted to return to Nepal half a year ago, but her employer did not allow. She has been working there for the past three years.

“What a horrible situation of a Nepali migrant working even in the house of a high profile man,” Surya Bahadur said. What might be the situation of other workers?”

Tara’s sister Kalpana said she dared to go against domestic violence to encourage Nepali migrant women abroad to fight for their rights. “We request the government to her her return safely with compensation.”
