Nepali student dies in China

A Nepali student from Dhabauli of Jaleswor Municipality, Mahottari, was found dead in China on Wednesday. Amit Kumar Mishra (26) was pursuing his medicine degree in Shandong University in Shandong province.

He was studying in the Chinese university under a Ministry of Education scholarship.

The cause of Mishra’s death is yet to be ascertained. The last time he spoke to his parents was on Monday — on the day of the Chhath festival.

His body was found hanging from a tree on the university premises. Jyoti Thapa of Kathmandu, who is studying in the same university, had called Mishra’s parents to inform about the incident.

The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu said it was making efforts to bring the body to Nepal, which the embassy said would be possible in a day or two.
