Nepali hurt in Afghan blast

Three local civilians died and two others, including an unidentified Nepali national, were injured in a truck-born improvised explosive device attack in front of the offices of the US-based International Relief and Development offices in the Afghan city of Kandahar on Monday, said a statement from Kandahar government's media office.

Taliban spokesman Yousuf Ahmadi said the insurgent group was responsible for a car bomb attack in Kandahar but claimed it was on the offices of the United Nations refugee agency. The bodies of the dead were taken to the nearby Mirwais hospital along with people wounded in the assault. -AFP
