Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav informed that the Election Commission is preparing to include 2.2 million Nepali migrant workers in its updated voter list.

Speaking at a programme today, Yadav said, “The commission will collect the names of Nepali workers in Qatar, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and other foreign countries,” adding, “The commission does not want any citizen above the voting age to be deprived of their rights.” He informed that the commission is also considering implementing ID like in India.

He urged political parties to encourage citizens to register their names in the voter list, saying political parties should take this matter seriously.
