MRP distribution in districts begins

WITH support from the Home Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Passport Office, began distribution of Machine Readable Passports (MRP) from 38 District Administration Offices (DAO) on Sunday.

People can now apply for the MRP at the DAO they acquired their citizenship certificate from, Joint-Spokesperson at the Foreign Ministry Tirtha Raj Wagle said. MRP application form collection centres have been set up in all development regions. Form collection and distribution centres have been set up in nine DAOs in Morang, Sunsari, Saptari, T e r h a t h u m , Dhankuta, Bhojpur, Khotang, Okhaldunga and Sankhuwasabha in the eastern region. MPRs will also be distributed in Bara, Parsa, Rautahat, Mustang, Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi, Kaski, Manang, Lamjung, Syangja, Tanahun, Gorkha, Banke, Bardiya, Dailekh, Surkhet, Humla, Dolpa, Jajarkot, Bajura, Bajhang, Darchula, Baitadi, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Doti, Achham and Dadeldhura districts. People in districts not covered by the new provision will have to acquire the MRP from the CPO until another provision is made, the ministry said. According to the CPO, service seekers from the districts no longer have to travel to the Capital as they can avail of all the services related to MPRs, except the express service, at the DAOs.
