4 held for forging documents

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested four persons Wednesday on the charge of illegally sending people to foreign employments by colluding with some officials of the Departments of Foreign Employment (DoFE).

According to Jagadish Pokhrel, deputy superintendent of police, a CIB team arrested Jagat Neupane, 29, of Morang; Shiva Prasad Regmi, 50, of Paanchthar; Arun Kumar Barma, 40, of Morang; and Umesh Kumar Bista, 30, of Bhojpur with the help of Department of Immigration and DoFE.

Neupane, the owner of Kelvin Tours and Travels located at New Baneshwar, was in collusion with DoFE officials was involved in fake documentation and the other three were involved in making fake visas and health documents. Police said they are investigating into DoFE officials but have not made any arrests.

Yog Prasad Baral, director of complaints at DoFE told Republica, "If the accused are found involved in the crime then they could face 3-7 years of imprisonment as per the Foreign Employment Act." Police said the accused DoFE saffers would charge Rs 2,500 to Rs 4,000 per head to help with the forgery.

Police have seized 141 passports, rubber stamps of different manpower companies and doctors, and insurance forms from the "office" of the arrested.
