Tamghas, Oct.19: Young voters in Gulmi Constituency-1 have demanded job opportunities in their own country with the party candidates for the elections to the House of Representatives. They informed that they were clear about the leaders who would get their votes.

Arjun Nepali, a local resident of Chandrakot Rural Municipality-4, said that the candidates should stop the youth from flying abroad for job and arrange proper employment in the country. Not only Nepali, several other youths in the constituency demanded job creation in the country.

They put forth this demand to Chandra Bhandari, a candidate for the House of Representatives from Constituency No. 1 of the district, and Sudarshan Baral, candidate of the Provincial Assembly, who reached the village to meet the voters on Monday.

The youth urged the candidates to understand the fact that a huge number of youths move to the international labour market seeking employment every year. “Arrange a system to support the youth through self-employment which could accelerate national building,” Nepali said.

Another young voter Hitkumar Kharal of Chandrakot-1, Arjewa, urged the party candidates not to forget the voters even after the election. He emphasized on understanding the problems at the rural level and said the leaders should always be with the people. “Make a plan with several opportunities to sustain youths in the country,” he added.

Kharal thinks that quality education, health service and employment arrangements in the village can reduce current migration rate.

Sudarshan Baral, the candidate for Provincial Assembly 1 and the former Minister of Social Development of Lumbini Province, said that a plan will be made by connecting commercial agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism to support the youth in the country. He said, “In order to sustain the youth power in the country, commercial agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism are important, so he will make a detailed plan and move forward.”

Chandra Bhandari, the candidate of the ruling alliance of the House of Representatives, said that he knows the pain of the migrant workers abroad, and insisted on solving the problem.

Chandra Bhandari of the Nepali Congress and former federal foreign minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali of the UML are in fray for a seat in the House of Representatives from this constituency.
