Ratna Kumari Kambang holds a Master's degree in sociology from Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal, and a Bachelor's degree in the humanities & social sciences from Mechi Multiple Campus, Jhapa, Nepal. She has worked for CESLAM for almost four years and has conducted numerous research studies in various capacities over this period. Some of the projects Ratna has worked on include, ‘Women Migration and Reintegration into Labor Market’, A Study on Violence against Returned Women Migrant Workers and their Families in Rupandehi and Dhading’, ‘Violence, work and women funded by International Medical Corps’, and ‘Migrations opportunities and challenges’ among many others.
Prior to joining CESLAM, she worked as a field researcher for the Centre for Economic Development and Administration (CEDA), and Social Inclusion Atlas and Ethnographic Profiles TU, and as a field research supervisor on the ‘School to Work Transition Survey 2013’ (CEDA). Her research interests are gender and development, quantitative research methods, and internal and international labour migration.
