Nepali shot dead in US

A Nepali national working at a gas station in Decatur, a city near Atlanta, the United States, has been shot dead Monday night.

The CCTV camera fixed the gas station shows Damodar Pathak, 40,  originally from Lalitpur, Nepal, was shot from a close range while he was on duty.

He sustained bullet injuries in the chest and stomach. Fatally injured, he was rushed to the nearby Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The footage shows the assailant had black complexion and had approached the victim as a customer. It also shows the man had some scuffle with the victim after which he opened fire and walked away.

Pathak  had been working at the gas station for the last two years. The gas station is owned by Krishna Devkota, who is also senior vice-chairman of Nepalese Association of Georgia. He had been in the US since 2007.

Preparations are being made to bring Pathak´s body home. He has a 13-year-old daughter and an 11 -year-old son.
