15 Nepali students hurt in B’desh

At least 15 people were injured, three of them critically, when two factions of Nepali students clashed at Chatgaun-based University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh on Friday night. The clash ensued between hostellers and those others staying outside. 

All Nepali youths involved are MBBS students. They used sharp-edged weapons in the clash. The injured sustained deep cuts in the head and other parts of the body. Some were even thrown from the third floor of the hostel building.

Dipak Giri, who was stabbed in the stomach, and Shailujnanda Bhurel, tossed out of a third floor window, are in serious condition.

An injured, on condition of anonymity, said that the assailants suddenly attacked with sharp-edged weapons after a heated altercation. The Nepali embassy in Dhaka has been informed of the incident.
