Two men have allegedly swindled around Rs. 20 million from various people promising foreign jobs with attractive facilities.

Dal Bahadur Adhikari of Sijuwa-3 and Jagat Bahadur Bhujel of Urlabari-4 in Morang district had collected Rs. 350,000 to Rs. 400,000 each from 40 youths in Morang and Jhapa, promising them lucrative jobs at an Afghanistan-based company.

The victims have filed a complaint in group at the District Administration Office (DAO), Morang, against Adhikari and Bhujel.

The swindlers had called the youths to New Delhi, citing further process for going to Afghanistan.

The youths were told that they would be sent via the Pahadgunj-based manpower company in New Delhi operated by one ´Ajit Singh´.

But the youths´ dream about abroad jobs with attractive remuneration was shattered when they had to return home after a month-long stay in New Delhi.

They said that they were left stranded by the so-called agents in the Indian city for a month.

Of the victim, one Prakash Chauhan of Damak-10 had visited the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi for justice, but the swindlers are still on the run.

When asked, Assistant Chief of Jhapa DAO, Gopal Parajuli pledged his best efforts to arrest the accused.

It is learnt that the victims had taken loans from banks and landlords on high interest rates and managed the amount to give to Adhikari and Bhujel.
