Former British Gurkha soldiers on Wednesday staged a demonstration in London demanding equal pension and other facilities given to the native British soldiers.
United British Gurkhas Ex-Servicemen’s Association yesterday collected 1, 11,000 signatures from the public and submitted them to the British prime minister’s office with a five-point demand.
It is learnt that the Gurkha veterans were protesting against the unfair military pensions since 1995.
Presently around 10,000 Gurkha veterans are living in the United Kingdom.
A spokesperson for the Gorkha Welfare Trust said that most of the retired soldiers who are currently living in United Kingdom would return back to Nepal if they got the full pension as they demanded.
