Anish Bhandari holds a Law degree from Tribhuvan University. He was awarded NOMA fellowship from University of Life Sciences Norway for the Masters course in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies. Focusing on the Maoist insurgency in Nepal, his Masters Dissertation studies push and pull factors for the children associated in armed conflict. It also examines the reintegration process of the ‘disqualified combatants’ from the Maoist Army after the Comprehensive Peace Accord was signed by the Seven Party Alliance and the Maoists.
He successfully completed Graduate Diploma Course in Social Science in 2013 from Nepā School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Kathmandu receiving full scholarship. His recent publications are “Migration and Resilience: Experiences from Nepal’s 2015 Earthquakes” and “Torture and Ill-treatment: Perceptions, Experiences and Justice-seeking in Kathmandu’s Squatter Communities”. He has also conducted a research on Gender and Violence as a Junior Research Fellow in a combined fellowship program of Alliance for Social Dialogue and Nepā School of Social Sciences and Humanities.
